As the Grants and Partnership Lead at Sorghum United Foundation, Rachel leads the organization’s resource mobilization efforts and forges partnerships that advance climate-resilient, community-driven solutions. Her career spans overseeing multi-million dollar portfolios at the Kenya Red Cross Society and in the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) sector, with funding from Department for International Development (DFID), United States Agency for International Development-Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA), European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), among other global partners.
With a background in Project management, and Water Engineering, Rachel is passionate about driving locally-led, inclusive impact across Africa. She leverages her technical and strategic expertise to address pressing challenges in food security, equity, and climate resilience.
